Brett Estrade is an experienced software developer residing in Houston; an open-source enthusiast, best known for his work with the Perl programming language. With a strong foundation in system-level programming, HPC, and a passion for automation; Estrade has contributed to various Perl modules and community tools. He has a reputation for promoting practical uses of Perl in data processing, DevOps workflows, and networked applications. In addition to programming, Brett is an advocate for open knowledge and frequently shares insights on operational automation, scripting, and systems design. He is a founding member and chairman of the Science Perl Committee; co-editor of the Science Perl Journal, and co-organized of the bi-annual Perl Community Conference held in Austin in July and December of each year.
