Brett Estrade is a Houston-based software developer and open-source advocate, best known for his contributions to the Perl programming language. With expertise in system-level programming, high-performance computing, and automation, he has developed and maintained Perl modules and community tools that emphasize practical solutions for data processing, DevOps, and networked systems. Brett is also a strong proponent of open knowledge, regularly sharing insights on scripting, operational automation, and systems design. He serves as founding member and chairman of the Science Perl Committee, co-editor of the Science Perl Journal, and co-organizer of the biannual Perl Community Conference in Austin.
